noon June 21 - Natural daylight comes full bore into the first level studio (Iwill need some sort of shading device there... and I am really excited that the second level studio space will be shaded well with the light shelves bringing in the light throughout the studio space.

Nice model. I like the way you have juxtaposed the solid massing of the Dorm against the much lighter structure of the Studios.
Ken, typically daylighting is used in the context of lighting a interior room during the day without artifical lights.
If looks like you are investigating shadows.

true, daylighting studies involves naturaly lighting the interior space... these diagrams confirm that sun is able to get into the courtyard as well as the studio building despite the dorm duilding on Boylston. the sections/building services will detail better the daylighting.
